Welcome to the community website of Silver End village in Essex.
Apologies for the lack of information. My service provider crashed and it appears all previous information is irrecoverable! Please bear with me as I will need to re-build the entire site and it may take some time I'm afraid. If any previous providers of information to the site would like to send me anything you would like to see on the site I will get it on as soon as I can!
Apologies once again!
Essex Tree Initiative
The Essex Tree Initiative will distribute 250,000 free trees to communities in Essex. The 250,000 trees are being given by Essex County Council, following a pledge by Lord Hanningfield. The trees will be distributed in partnership with various organisations. RCCE are distributing to Parish and Town Councils, Village Hall Management Committees, Parochial Church Councils, Playing Field Management Committees and other Community Groups and Organisations. The project aims to replace some of the lost wooded areas of Essex .
The trees will provide new habitats and create recreation opportunities. Trees will be planted in areas where there is public access. All kinds of native trees are available, although it is hoped that most trees will be eco-typical of the area in which they are to be planted. Some of the necessary sundry items associated with planting the trees may be paid for through the scheme.
RCCE has an important role to advise and support applicants in their projects, as well as administering the allocation process. The project is running for the current financial year, and all trees awarded must be planted by March 2009.
